Built up around a general store, the almost forgotten Anneville, was once a growing community with a sawmill, gristmill, blacksmith, two churches, a doctor, cotton gin, post office and education center, known as the Walnut School. It is believed to be named after Mrs. Anne Davis, who came to Texas in a covered wagon, and is located off of what is now Farm Road 730.
