Lake Bridgeport
More than 70 years ago, when Dallas and Fort Worth were mere shadows of what they are today, the small town of Bridgeport, located on a tributary of the Trinity River, became the home of Lake Bridgeport.
Pools
The Bridgeport City Pool is open May 26 through Aug. 19, and it’s fully staffed with pool managers, lifeguards and concession workers. For 10 years, Runaway Bay’s public pool has been a fun alternative to splashing in the lake.
Paddling Trails
The Paddling Trails program of the Texas Parks and Wildlife launched a pair of sites in the county during the spring: Chupacabra Point in Runaway Bay and Bridgeport Falls in Bridgeport.
